LOTTERY WINNING JANITOR HELPS THE SCHOOL WHERE HE WORKS
July 6, 2011

5 years ago, Tyrone Curry, a janitor at the Evergreen High School changed his life after he managed to win a $3.4 million jackpot at one of the state lottery games. Now, 5 years later, Tyrone Curry still works as a janitor for the same Evergreen High School, and he even tries to help the institution with money whenever possible. Besides being janitor at the high school, he is also the coach of the track and field team. Mega lottery

“I try to make sure it’s spotless and it’s ready for the kids,” Curry stated. “I just like staying busy.”

However, everyone there knows that Tyrone Curry doesn’t really need to work anymore, as he is a millionaire.

“I know my wife says, ‘Oh, you don’t really have to work’ and I say, ‘Yeah. I do,” Tyrone Curry added.

“Ten years ago, I said if I win some money, I’m going to put a track here.”

And Tyrone Curry held true to his word, as he gave away $40,000 so that the district would create a perfectly new track. US lottery

“Tyrone goes above and beyond in the sports he coaches,” Devante Botello, a senior at the high school, stated. “It’s a deep feeling. All I can say is thanks.”

Meanwhile, Tyrone Curry tells that no amount of money he could ever give can compare with the satisfaction he gets from the kids.

“Kids do things for you. They keep you young,” Tyrone Curry stated.

This month, Tyrone Curry will retire after 34 years of service, but he will return to cheer for his team and revel in the new track he helped buy. State lottery

“It’s gonna be hard when I retire, you know, but I’ll still be here.”

Tyrone Curry said he plans on taking a leadership position within the school board after he retires. This man just can’t stand still. While other people who win the lottery quit their jobs and splash their money left and right to have as much fun as possible, Tyrone Curry shows that even when faced with a sum that would change many others, you can still keep your composure, your values and, well, your job.
