LOUSIANA LOTTERY ENDS RAFFLE
June 27, 2011

The “season finale” of the Louisiana State Lottery’s Millionaire Bonus Raffle has yielded quite a few prizes. The ticket number 201159 was the one randomly selected to win the grand $1 million prize. The raffle itself can be counted as a great success, as 275,052 tickets were purchased. National lottery

Along with the grand $1 million winner, 20 other tickets were selected to win $20,000 each. Also, 4 other tickets won $20,000, as the raffle gave people the possibility to win this award if they bought a ticket before the date of the bonus draw. The raffle was quite traditional, only 300,000 tickets were available, with a sale rate of 92%.

“In celebration of our 20th anniversary, the Lottery is excited to pump up our raffle game with bonus drawings to reward our loyal players,” Lottery President Rose Hudson stated. “With Millionaire Bonus Raffle, it’s true that the early bird does get the worm.”

The 26 lucky winners should go to one of the six regional offices of the Louisiana state lottery. All the lottery tickets received a unique 6 figure number, each cost $10 and players could purchase multiple tickets if they wished it.

“For security purposes, we strongly suggest that players sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchasing and treat the ticket as cash,” Rose Hudson added.

Winners have 180 days at their disposal to claim the prize, and the winnings are subject to tax. Lottery winning numbers

Well, now that’s over, but we hope we will be able to take advantage of a similar undertaking in the near future. This type of raffle is quite fun, and people play them because they are 100% sure that all the prizes will be won. And, well, let’s be serious, a 1 in 275,052 chance to win $1 million is not that bad. If we take a look at the odds of winning other lotteries, we will find that the chance is even smaller. But that doesn’t mean one should lose hope and stop playing the lottery altogether. Even if the chances are small, they still exist, and you never know when and where luck will strike next.
