More than a month ago, when Virginia was selling the $105 Million Mega Millions ticket, somebody from California was also winning a fairly decent prize. The lucky ticket was purchased at the Hong Kong Supermarket at 127 North Garfield Avenue in Monterey Park. The numbers 30, 12, 47, 17 and 35 should be inscribed on the ticket and only the Mega Ball 26 will be different. The drawing took place at the start of last month, and the winner has yet to claim his prize. Lottery officials are fearing the worst, but they are still hoping the winner is OK, still has his ticket and is just waiting for the right time to come forth and get his prize.
In other news, nobody managed to win the jackpot at last night’s Powerball draw. The numbers drawn were 9, 13, 47, 49, 53 and the Powerball 39. Those who managed to win a non jackpot prize and purchased their lottery tickets with the Power Play option will be pleased to find out that the Power Play number was 5. Mega lottery
5 people bought Powerball lottery tickets that got the first 5 numbers right and should receive $200,000 prizes. Two of the tickets were purchased in New York, one in North Carolina, one in Louisiana and one in Indiana. Unfortunately, none of the tickets was purchased with the Power Play option. Furthermore, a total of 31 people managed to get the first 4 numbers and the Powerball right and will receive $10,000 prizes. In fact, just 24 of them will receive $10,000 each as the other 7 were fortunate enough to purchase their tickets with the Power Play option and their prizes will be multiplied by 5. There were $6,025,470 worth of prizes won at the August 24 drawing. The jackpot was worth $47 million, but it will have to be rolled for the next draw.
