Phillip Withem, from Logan, Ohio, managed to win $5 million at the Ohio state lottery. The man who has a kidney problem and has to undergo dialysis treatments said that he will use the money to help those around him. His lottery luck started in 2006, when he won $2,500 with an instant lottery ticket. He said that he is still unable to grasp the concept that he is now a millionaire. Lottery numbers
“It’s not going to sink in for maybe the rest of my life,” Phillip Withem stated. His life depends on dialysis, but the man still has his sense of humor intact. “I have no kids that I know of. But I’m sure I’ll have them coming out of the woodwork now,” Mr. Withem joked. Lottery checker
He also stated that the friends who stood by him and sustained him through his illness will be helped, along with many charity foundations.
“I’m going to help people because I love it. It makes me feel good and I think that’s what God put us here for,” Withem stated.
Prior to him becoming very sick, Withem had a part time cleaning job at the Hocking County Courthouse.
“The people at the courthouse were very nice and I appreciated that,” Phil Withem stated.
“Phil is a good person and I think he deserves it. He needed a break,” Nancy Powers, a former colleague, stated about Phil Withem. Powers also said she wants to retire, too many years have passed without a consistent break.
“No more disability, but I don’t think I need it,” Phillip Withem stated. State lottery
The life of a man who deserves it was changed by the lottery, and that can only make us happy. After reporting yesterday about a drug dealer who won $100,000 but still kept going on his criminal path, we can say we actually needed to hear about somebody like Phillip Withem.
It is the perfect example of lottery money going to someone who actually deserves it. Phillip Withem plans to do as much for his friends and community as possible, and we believe that is what the lottery is all about.
The money won by Phillip Withem will be used to help many people who need it, so we believe we should rejoice at his good fortune and hope that we would be just as noble as he is if we happen to win a lottery jackpot.
