OLD FRIENDS SHARE LOTTERY JACKPOT AS PROMISED
July 4, 2011

One of the day’s more interesting stories from the world of lotteries comes from Orange County. It all started when Eula Webb, a 75 year old, went to the store and asked her friend, Sam Cricci, an 80 year old, if he wanted to accompany her and purchase some milk.

“I wanted to keep him active,” Eula Webb stated. Lottery results

And as the two old friends travelled to Fulton Street and got to the Associated Supermaket to purchase milk, they decided to also buy a couple of Empire State Millionaire scratch lottery tickets, one for her and one for him. Then, they just went back home, not even suspecting the luck that has befallen them. Powerball lottery

But to better understand the story, we need to backtrack a bit and mention that Eula Webb and Sam Cricci had a deal going for quite some time. They agreed upon always purchasing their lottery tickets together and share any winning they might obtain.

So, as they got to their homes, Eula Webb scratched her ticket but it turned out it was a losing one. However, as Sam Cricci started scratching, he soon realized he managed to hit the jackpot and win 1 million dollars. And that is how the two of them ended up being filmed by a score of TV cameras and interviewed by as many reporters as both of them had seen in their lives.

“We’re here to award a million dollars to a couple of your neighbors,” Yolanda Vega, a state lottery public figure, told passers by.

“What, they doin’ a rap video?” a person happening to walk by stated. Lottery checker

For 21 years, Eula Webb worked as a hospital secretary, while Cricci worked in security and maintenance throughout his life. They are now both retired, so they are not really used to being exposed to the media.

“Did you think about keeping the winning ticket for yourself and not telling her?” Sam Cricci was asked by a reporter. His reply was categorical and devoid of any hesitance. “No!” the man simply stated.

“No more,” Eula Webb said as the two of them cleared a path through the throng of reporters and unequivocally ended the interviews.

Well, that’s all the story. We hope you enjoyed it and you will return soon to find out everything new and exciting from the world of lotteries.
